Nexagent appoints Steve Bennetts as CFO
~Bennetts to provide world-class financial leadership and play key role in the execution of strategic, commercial and operational initiatives ~
Nexagent, formerly InterProvider, a global leader in collaborative commerce for the telecoms industry, has appointed Steve Bennetts as CFO. Bennetts will oversee financial operations for Nexagent worldwide and will play a key role in the execution of all strategic, commercial and operational initiatives.
Bennetts has over 20 years' experience in financial management and has held senior positions with a number of leading NASDAQ-quoted technology companies including Amazon.com and Avid Technology. He also led Content Technologies' IPO project up until it was acquired by Baltimore Technologies for almost $1 billion - which represents one of the largest ever all-European software acquisitions. Bennetts has extensive senior financial and operational experience in fast-growth technology companies across Europe and North America, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young.
Nexagent, founded by Charlie Muirhead, who previously founded Orchestream (LSE:OCH), and Chris Gare, formally Director of Advanced Services at Cable & Wireless, has developed a network peering architecture and collaborative commerce platform, including a unique suite of demand- and supply-chain management services, for the telecommunications industry. Nexagent's platform enables, for the first time, service providers and telecom carriers to work together to deliver cost-effective, performance-guaranteed, managed IP services internationally to all their enterprise customers.
Bennetts joins Nexagent's world-class management team which collectively has over 150 years' experience in the telecoms sector. The team includes Charlie Muirhead, co-founder and CEO; Chris Gare, co-founder and VP Business Development, who is widely accredited for developing Cable & Wireless' focus on business IP services; Geoff Brickell, VP Products and Services, who was formerly VP of Service Integration and Provide at Cable & Wireless Global and was responsible for the management of its global data and IP services as well as the establishment of its Global Services Operations; Martin Burvill, VP Sales and Commercial, who was global head of sales for SITA and a co-founder of Equant; David Page, CTO, who was head of Consulting Engineering at Cisco Systems; and Chris Phoenix, VP Delivery, who as VP & General Manager of iBusiness at Citrix Systems was responsible for leading the company's entry into the ASP market and recruiting over 150 ASPs into Citrix Programs in 12 months.
"Nexagent has developed a unique software and services solution for the telecoms industry which enables, for the first time, service providers and telecoms carriers to collaborate to deliver cost-effective, performance-guaranteed, managed IP services internationally to all their enterprise customers," said Bennetts. "Of course, great technology is not enough to guarantee success; I am impressed with the in-depth experience and strength of the management team, the world-class financial backers and the sharp marketing focus. I believe that the conditions are in place for explosive growth; the next year promises to be an exciting time for everyone involved with the company."
"Steve's experience in every aspect of company finance will
prove an invaluable asset for Nexagent," said Muirhead. "His
expertise gained from working with very successful technology
ventures means he is ideally placed to help Nexagent with all
the key strategic, commercial and operational initiatives that
Nexagent faces today and into the future"
