NEXAGENT PRESIDENT NAMED ‘ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR’ BY THE EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY FORUM

London – 3 March, 2004 - Charlie Muirhead, president and founder of Nexagent, provider of independent multi-carrier interconnect services, has been voted ‘entrepreneur of the year’ by representatives from Apax Partners Worldwide, Gemini Ernst & Young, CNET Networks UK, Goldman Sachs, Intellect, Oracle and PricewaterhouseCoopers at the sixth UK Technology Partnering & Investment Forum.

The ‘entrepreneur of the year’ award acknowledges the achievements of a business person “who has founded one (or more) successful high growth technology firms”. In the past year Charlie has successfully lead the company to B round funding of £15 M and established interconnect points in London and Frankfurt . The patent pending system behind the interconnect service is the result of over three years research and development, eighteen months of rigorous testing and eight months of live service testing.

James Bennet, founder and MD, European Technology Forum, said: "The judging panel wanted to acknowledge Charlie's drive and determination at founding three businesses - Orchestream, iGabriel and Nexagent. Charlie's skill at applying strong business acumen to complex technology issues and his ability to assemble strong management teams particularly impressed the panel."

Other nominees in the ‘entrepreneur of the year’ category included Stan Boland, CEO & president and founder, Icera Semiconductor; Paul Barry Walsh, chairman & chief executive, Netstore; Pete Malcolm, CEO, Orchestria and David Milne, managing director, Wolfson Microelectronics plc.
