NEXAGENT SELECTED BY THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM AS A TECHNOLOGY PIONEER FOR 2005
The selection of the 29 most innovative technology suppliers globally.

Nexagent joins a dazzling WEF alumni list, including Autonomy, Napster and Google

London UK, 6 December 2004 - Nexagent, the market leader in centralised management software and hardware for interconnecting next-generation telecom networks, has been selected as a World Economic Forum ‘Technology Pioneer for 2005’.

To be chosen as a Technology Pioneer, a company must be truly innovative; it must have a potential long-term impact on business and society; it is expected to show the signs of a long-term market leader; its technology must be proven; and it must have visionary leadership. Nexagent was selected as a Pioneer as its technology is truly innovative, enabling carriers and systems integrators to rapidly, cost effectively and reliably, interconnect multiple telecom networks.

By licensing Nexagent's technology, carriers and systems integrators can deliver high quality, low cost global IP-VPN services to their customers by building a multi-carrier ‘private network grid’ of interconnections, which seamlessly link together their optimal mix of preferred carrier partners in each geography around the world.

‘It is not enough for companies to have developed a great technology these days,” said Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. “Timing is intrinsically important in deciding which technologies are successfully integrated into society. History shows us that successful technologies fulfilled an empty but important niche. These 29 companies are clearly addressing societal needs.”

Charlie Muirhead, president and founder of Nexagent, said: “It is a great honour for Nexagent to be recognised by the WEF as a Technology Pioneer for 2005. Over the past three years we have focused on building relationships and listening to the needs of over 100 carriers and 10 systems integrators about the multi-carrier challenge and the issues involved. Our investment and resultant technology is ready to address these market needs today and enable next-generation service offerings that deliver real competitive differentiation. We look forward to announcing new customers rolling-out ground-breaking projects with Nexagent technology during 2005. ”
