NEXAGENT NAMED AS A RECIPIENT OF RED HERRING 100 EUROPE 2005 ACCOLADE
Nexagent selected from more than 600 private companies for criteria including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development
London UK, 12 April 2005 – Nexagent, the market leader in centralised management software and hardware for interconnecting next-generation telecom networks, is a recipient of Red Herring 100 Europe – a selection of the 100 private companies in Europe and Israel that play a leading role in innovation and technology.
“Our list shows that despite obstacles posed by regulations, bureaucracy and tradition, innovation and entrepreneurship continues to thrive in Europe,” said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss.
The Red Herring 100 follows two other significant industry awards for Nexagent over the past three months. In December 2004, the company was named a World Economic Forum ‘Technology Pioneer for 2005’ (1 of 29 winners) and in January was included in Tornado100, The Tornado Insider’s list of 100 ‘technology stars’ for 2005.
Red Herring’s lists of top private companies are an important part of the magazine’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google and eBay were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors as those that would change the way we live and work. This is the first time that Red Herring magazine has compiled a list focused exclusively on the most promising startups in Europe.
Charlie Muirhead, president and founder, Nexagent said: “It’s a great honour for Nexagent to be recognised by the Red Herring among the 100 companies leading innovation and technology in Europe. We feel confident about the company’s continued growth during 2005 and look forward to announcing our new carrier and systems integrator customers that are preparing to roll-out exciting projects with Nexagent technology.”
Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 600 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development.
